Laura Williams, LCP
Hello! My name is Laura D. Williams, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in public service for nearly ten years, and I have worked as a community mental health therapist at a non-profit organization for the last five years. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional as well as a Certified Anger Management Specialist II, and I am also rostered to provide Child & Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), a preventative program provided by the Family First initiative. As a therapist, I have served populations from birth to elder and provided both individual and family therapies.
My clients come from all backgrounds to seek help with depression, anxiety, trauma, simple- and complex- PTSD, struggling identities, and family and parental conflicts. I also offer a safe space for members of the LGBTQA+ community. My modalities utilize educating clients about the mind and body connection, healing attachment wounds, and transitioning thoughts into the present.
I am grateful to join the team here at Healthy Strides, as the focus here is all about balance and being healthy! For me, that means being outdoors as much as possible when I am not working. I love to kayak, camp, and hike, and am often found outside somewhere exploring with my family. If I am not seeking healing outside, I am exploring movement through yoga. My goal over the next few years is to obtain my RYT 200 to share the benefits of yoga with others. Still, I find my practice can be beneficial to my clients in other ways, and my own self-care helps me make you my priority! I welcome your presence, and I look forward to being with you on your journey!
